Jesus Christ Superstar!

Christina is currently performing at Chicago Lyric Opera in their production of Jesus Christ Superstar. She will be understudying the role of Mary Magdalene in addition to performing in the Ensemble.

One of the greatest stories ever told comes to life in the groundbreaking, iconic rock opera that reinvented musical theater for the modern age. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this global blockbuster tells the story of the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. As Christ’s followers grow more fervent, Judas must make his fateful choice between faith and betrayal. Filled with an exciting mix of musical styles that draw upon 1970s rock, gospel, folk, and funk themes, this contemporary imagining of the biblical tale features high-energy dance and powerful storytelling. A must-see Broadway hit of the new season!

Chicago Fringe Opera presents the world premiere of The Great God Pan which takes its story from an eponymous 1890 novella by Welsh author Arthur Machen, exploring themes of scientific hubris, transcendental medicine, and unexplainable supernatural behavior. Composer Ross Crean adapted Machen’s narrative into the work’s libretto himself, an ambitious and rare undertaking for a composer. Christina will play the role of Helen Vaughan.

Adapted from various court cases witnessed by the librettist during his time as a crime reporter, the opera takes place in a courtroom and plays out in a series of colorful vignettes that give audiences an insider’s look into the fascinating, hilarious and often insanely bizarre world of legal drama.

The small ensemble cast features Nate Mattingly (Hamlet, Frontiers) and the Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artists, Anna Laurenzo (Buried Alive | Embedded, Frontiers), Trevor Martin (The Barber of Seville, Frontiers), Christina Pecce, and Andrew Surrena. Set against an alluring Spanish landscape, this classic tale of love, lust, jealousy and vengeful crimes of passion is sure to captivate audiences in a zesty, traditional production. Leading the cast as the fiery femme fatale is mezzo-soprano Audrey Babcock (With Blood, With Ink) in the title role. A world-renowned interpreter of the character, she’ll be joined on stage by Robert Watson, who will make his FWOpera debut in the notoriously difficult role of her lover, Don José.

Rounding out the cast is Craig Irvin (Silent Night) as the brash bullfighter Escamillo and former FWOpera Studio Artist, Kerriann Otaño (Cosí fan tutte), as the young Micaëla. Christina Pecce will perform the role of Frasquita. FWOpera Music Director Joe Illick will conduct Bizet’s memorable score with David Lefkowich (Il Trovatore, La Bohème) returning to direct.

What do you do on New Year’s Eve BEFORE your big party plans? Come "Sing in the New Year" at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, Minnesota! Featuring a roster of exciting young professional talent, this concert is sure to put you in the mood for a festive evening. 

Come and hear Stillwater natives Jack Swanson and Clark Weyrauch along with Keith Browning, Carolyn Höhle, Anna Bridgman, Christina Pecce, Michael Hewitt and this year Mary Swanson sing your favorite holiday classics, show tunes, and standards. Roderick Phipps Kettlewell will be on the piano. 

Only $10 dollars for students (ID required) and $20 for the graduated. Cash or check at the door. We’ll be accepting additional donations to help our friends cover their flights.
