Earth to Kenzie is a new opera written by Frances Pollock and Jessica Murphy Moo and directed by Jess McLeod. Featuring a cast of four singers with piano accompaniment, this family offering is specifically programmed to expose young audiences ages 7-12 to storytelling through song, introducing them to the magic of opera.

Christina plays the roles of Edwin/Eddie.

Featuring music from The American Musical Theatre canon to folk songs to pop music, YOU BE THE GUY invites audiences to hear traditionally male songs in a new voice. The 3rd Annual Holiday Benefit on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, 2019 supports the local Chicago non-profit organization, Blessons for Women, with the mission in advancing women economically through skilled trade jobs. Come celebrate with us as we recognize our 2019 Blessons Award Recipients!

This year’s event will be held at Casati’s in Lincoln Park from 6pm - 9pm. We will have an open bar, appetizers and “Witches, Bitches, and Divas” one woman cabaret featuring, Christina Pecce and with special guest, international burlesque performer, Crocodile Lightning!!

Based on a true story, legendary paleontologist Dr. Henry Fairfield Osborn has an incredible collection of fossils at his museum, and turns to Charles R. Knight, the famous naturalist artist, to create vivid paintings that bring these ancient creatures to life for visitors. When Knight’s granddaughter, Rhoda, accompanies him to the museum, she is awestruck by these exciting fossils and the life-like images that her grandfather creates! Join Rhoda and the cast for this opera especially for kids aged 7-12 and their families.

Christina is currently performing at Chicago Lyric Opera in their production of Jesus Christ Superstar. She will be understudying the role of Mary Magdalene in addition to performing in the Ensemble.

One of the greatest stories ever told comes to life in the groundbreaking, iconic rock opera that reinvented musical theater for the modern age. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this global blockbuster tells the story of the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. As Christ’s followers grow more fervent, Judas must make his fateful choice between faith and betrayal. Filled with an exciting mix of musical styles that draw upon 1970s rock, gospel, folk, and funk themes, this contemporary imagining of the biblical tale features high-energy dance and powerful storytelling. A must-see Broadway hit of the new season!

Chicago Fringe Opera presents the world premiere of The Great God Pan which takes its story from an eponymous 1890 novella by Welsh author Arthur Machen, exploring themes of scientific hubris, transcendental medicine, and unexplainable supernatural behavior. Composer Ross Crean adapted Machen’s narrative into the work’s libretto himself, an ambitious and rare undertaking for a composer. Christina will play the role of Helen Vaughan.

Written by composer Matthew Peterson and librettist Jason Zencka, this explosive opera was selected as a winner of the 2014 FWOpera Frontiers showcase, and returns to the Festival stage this season for its world premiere. Adapted from various court cases witnessed by the librettist during his time as a crime reporter, the opera takes place in a courtroom and plays out in a series of colorful vignettes that give audiences an insider’s look into the fascinating, hilarious and often insanely bizarre world of legal drama.

The small ensemble cast features Nate Mattingly (Hamlet, Frontiers) and the Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artists, Anna Laurenzo (Buried Alive | Embedded, Frontiers), Trevor Martin (The Barber of Seville, Frontiers), Christina Pecce, and Andrew Surrena. Co-produced with Skylight Music Theatre in Milwaukee, Voir Dire will be directed by FWOpera favorite David Gately (La Traviata, The Barber of Seville) and conducted by Viswa Subbaraman in his FWOpera debut.

FWOpera presents the perfectly balanced season with Bizet’s operatic tour de force Carmen. Set against an alluring Spanish landscape, this classic tale of love, lust, jealousy and vengeful crimes of passion is sure to captivate audiences in a zesty, traditional production. Leading the cast as the fiery femme fatale is mezzo-soprano Audrey Babcock (With Blood, With Ink) in the title role. A world-renowned interpreter of the character, she’ll be joined on stage by Robert Watson, who will make his FWOpera debut in the notoriously difficult role of her lover, Don José.

Rounding out the cast is Craig Irvin (Silent Night) as the brash bullfighter Escamillo and former FWOpera Studio Artist, Kerriann Otaño (Cosí fan tutte), as the young Micaëla. Christina Pecce will perform the role of Frasquita. FWOpera Music Director Joe Illick will conduct Bizet’s memorable score with David Lefkowich (Il Trovatore, La Bohème) returning to direct.
